Obama Begs Republicans to Abandon Trump

In a searing denouncement, President Barack Obama castigated Donald Trump as “unfit” and “woefully unprepared” to serve in the White House. He challenged Republicans to withdraw their support for their party’s nominee, declaring “There has to come a point at which you say ‘enough.'”

While Obama has long been critical of Trump, his blistering condemnation Tuesday was a notable escalation of his involvement in the presidential race. Obama questioned whether Trump would “observe basic decency” as president, argued he lacks elementary knowledge about domestic and international affairs and condemned his disparagement of an American Muslim couple whose son was killed while serving the U.S. Army in Iraq.

A chorus of Republicans has disavowed Trump’s criticism of Khizr and Ghazala Khan and the Republican nominee’s calls to temporarily ban Muslims from coming to the U.S. But Obama argued that isn’t enough.

“If you are repeatedly having to say, in very strong terms, that what he has said is unacceptable, why are you still endorsing him?” Obama asked during a White House news conference. “What does this say about your party that this is your standard-bearer?” No prominent Republican lawmaker responded to Obama’s challenge.

Instead, it was Trump stunningly withholding his support from top GOP lawmakers, including House Speaker Paul Ryan. In an affront to his party’s top elected official, Trump told The Washington Post he wasn’t “quite there yet” on an endorsement for Ryan in his primary next week.

Trump’s refusal to back Ryan exposed anew the deep divisions within the GOP and underscored that the businessman rarely plays by the traditional political playbook. Ryan has been among those urging Republicans to rally around Trump, despite concerns about his candidacy.

Ryan’s campaign said, “Neither Speaker Ryan nor anyone on his team has ever asked for Donald Trump’s endorsement. And we are confident in a victory next week regardless.”

Trump also said he was not supporting Sen. John McCain in his primary in Arizona, and he dismissed Sen. Kelly Ayotte as a weak and disloyal leader in New Hampshire

Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton sees those GOP concerns about Trump as an opportunity to reach out to party moderates – particularly women – who may be so upset by the nominee that they’re willing to look past policy differences and questions about Clinton’s character.

The president – who is enjoying heightened popularity in his eighth and final year in office – plans to campaign robustly for Clinton through Election Day. He and first lady Michelle Obama spoke at last week’s Democratic convention in Philadelphia.

The Khans also appeared at the convention, with Khizr Khan telling the story of his son, U.S. Army Capt. Humayun Khan, who was posthumously awarded a Bronze Star and Purple Heart after his death in 2004. Khan criticized Trump’s position on Muslims and asked whether the real estate mogul had read the Constitution.

For most politicians, tangling with a bereaved military family would be out of bounds. But Trump dove in, questioning why Ghazala Khan did not speak, implying her religion prevented her from doing so, and saying he was “viciously attacked” by Khizr Khan.

Trump’s criticism was part of a familiar pattern: He can’t let go of a perceived slight, no matter the potential damage to his presidential campaign or political reputation.

Those who have worked with him say that in private meetings he can often appear amenable to putting a controversy aside. But the businessman can quickly be drawn back in by an interview, especially if he believes he’s already answered a question, or if he grows irritated by commentary on cable television.

Trump’s unwillingness to let the matter subside sparked outrage Monday from several Republicans.

Sen. John McCain, R-Arizona, a former prisoner of war, said Trump did not have “unfettered license to defame those who are the best among us.” Rep. Mike Coffman, a vulnerable Republican in a competitive Colorado district, said he was “deeply offended when Donald Trump fails to honor the sacrifices of all of our brave soldiers who were lost in that war.” Missouri Sen. Roy Blunt said the Khans “deserve to be heard and respected.”

Obama argued those denunciations “ring hollow” as long as Republicans continue to back Trump in the White House race.

Trump’s response? On Twitter, he said, “President Obama will go down as perhaps one of the worst president in the history of the United States!”

Sen. Mark Kirk, who is facing a tough re-election fight in Illinois, rescinded his endorsement of Trump in June after the GOP nominee criticized an American-born judge’s Mexican heritage. Others, including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Ryan, have broken with the nominee on individual issues but continue to back his candidacy.

Trump unprepared? Has Obama forgotten how unprepared he himself was when he became President? And all he did during his presidency was whipping up the race flames. He will be remembered as one of the worst presidents.

He is definitely the worse president we have ever had and Hillary will be an extension of him, if not worse… This country does NOT need Hillary in office.. she WILL steal this country from the citizens…
people need to watch the film “Hillary’s America” it will show them the corrupt and lawless democratic party and of the corruption of the Clintons..

Obama can take a flying leap off a high bridge.. Obama is the worse president we have ever had.. he has done nothing but tear apart this country piece by piece.. Trump is smart enough to put it back together… Trump is harsh in things he says at times, but he is not a stupid man… he will be much better than Obama ever was and will definitely be much better than Hillary.. put Hillary in office and she WILL steal America from the citizens… with more illegal immigration, more job loses, raised taxes, more of Obamacare… the citizens will not be her priority..
You want to learn about the corruption and lawlessness of the democratic party and of the Clintons, take the time to go watch “Hillary’s America” it is quite an eye opener… People blame the republicans for the KKK and the slaves and that is NOT true.. KKK was created by democrats, slaves were okay with the democrats… it was a republican president who put a stop to the slavery… and I call people living on welfare who are not working slaves of the government…
TRUMP 2016 Time to take our country out of the hands of the corrupt and lawless politicians.. they have failed us and the biggest failure is Obama and Hillary would be his extensions…
and Obama can takes his remarks and shove them where the sun don’t shine..

Like any propaganda coming out of the Malfeasant Media, I do the exact opposite of whatever our Radical-In-Chief, our Community Agitator in the White Hut, says.

I believe Trump knows exactly what he is doing, and he certainly has both Hillary and Barack up in arms, doesn’t he! If the GOP had been smart, they would have found the most charismatic, sitting senator in Congress and put ALL members of the Party, and all their resources, committee to actually ELECTING A REPUBLICAN AS PRESIDENT! Someone they forgot all about this and never stopped to think how much better life would be starting January 20, 2017 if a REPUBLICAN went to the WH. Trump would not have been my candidate, but based on the convention results, he is the GOP candidate, so if you operate under the premise that the worst Republican is better than any Democrat (certainly better than Hillary), you owe him your support. Instead, you all pick away at him and in retaliation (I think), he puts his foot in his big mouth over and over. If the GOP had immediately gone to bat for him over the issue of the Muslim father speaking out at the Democratic Party, this issue would not be still dominating the air waives. The fact is, that even if it was only plane fare and a hotel bill, you can bet the DNC paid these people to get them to speak at the convention! Also, and the biggest booboo, is the fact that their son died 12 years ago, not yesterday! Parents do grieve forever, but why take that grief out of the closet 12 years later – to speak in front of a national audience? Maybe the GOP should have countered with a parent who lost a son at Bengahzi – but No, that’s dirty politics? Well, it seems Trunk is the only street-smart fighter out there!

Obama is just trying to help the liar, thief, and trader to win the election so all of his stupid laws and tricks will not be over ruled. Look how they (Hillary and Obama) LIED to get where they are. Lets put them in a CELL together and throw away the key.

Obama is just as bad as Hillary. The question is who is the bigger liar. Hillary has been investigated 27 or more times since serving as 1st lady of Arkansas. Seven investigations of her when she was first lady of the U.S.
Two or more charges already waiting for her as she waits for the presidential election results. The so called Clinton foundation, or whatever they call it now may land the whole family in prison, that’s if she can’t be protected by the DOJ and FBI along with the CIA. Remember Mena Arkansas.

The corrupt are running scared, scared they will lose their establishment status, but Obama is scared Trump will expose executive orders America is not aware of which Obama slipped through in the dead of night and that Trump will rescind them.

Obama the usurper should talk against Trump. Obama is just as bad as Hillary. The question is who is the bigger liar, Obama or Hillary.
Crooked Hillary has been investigated about 27 or more times since serving as 1st lady of Arkansas. There was seven investigations of her when she was first lady of the U.S, an example is when they removed white house furniture and called them gifts.
Two or more charges already waiting for her as she waits for the presidential election results. The so called Clinton foundation, or whatever they call it now may land the whole family in prison, that’s if she can’t be protected by the DOJ and FBI along with the CIA.

The only way to beat Hillary is to get out and VOTE TRUMP. He will have all the backing he needs with our Military leaders to have his back. The DNC are just afraid of him because he sees through their crap, lying, hiding files, etc. Hillary has too much blood on her hands and the next could be ours if she gets in office. The Clintons have funneled money into the Clinton Foundation for years they got illegally. When someone gets close to proving it they end up dead. Not to mention her Benghazi stunt leaving innocent people to die instead of sending them help. What a piece of work she is. Is this who you want for a President? Haven’t we had 8 years of this already?

Perhaps someone should beg democrats to abandon Hillary. She is unfit and woefully unprepared! And she has demonstrated potential health problems with dizzy spells, lapses of memory, stuttering, and coughing fits. as Secretary of State she demonstrated inaptitude in foreign affairs and matters of national security. She is definitely not fit to be President of the United States!

It’s amazing how an incompetent, race baiting president along with the lying, scandalous ridden dnc nominee, call for Republicans to abandon Trump because of their fear of the truth he is states about Hilary and the dnc. Americans need to wake up, before these anti-American politicians completely strip us of our freedoms and turn this country imto a pathetic socialist nation, with no freedom.
